The cafeteria is open between 7:45-8:30a for free breakfast for all students. Starting at 8:15a, students can head to their classrooms.

 

 

absences

In the event your student will be absent, please communicate with the school by calling: 813-356-1760 choosing option 1. Leave a message including the student's legal name, date, reason for the absence, your name, and your contact information.

 

early sign outs

If your student needs to be signed out before the school day is over, please arrive at the front office and the staff can assist you. Sign outs are only permitted prior to 1:30p on Mondays and 2:30p Tuesday-Friday. A government issued photo ID is required for pick up.

 

Arrival PROCEDURES

Car Rider: car rider drop off is on Main Street between 8:10a-8:40a. School personnel are there to assist students getting out of cars.
 
Walker: students may enter the front entrance starting at 7:45a. The side entrance is designated for school staff, so please come in through the front office.
 
HOST: students in HOST can arrive as early as 7:00a and may enter through the front office door.
 
Bus Riders: students who utilize the district school bus transportation will arrive at the bus ramp on Union Street.
 
Late Arrival: any student arriving after 8:40a must be escorted by an adult to the main office to sign in.
 
 

DISMISSAL PROCEDURES

 

Car Rider: students will be directed to the car line off Main St. For the safety of our students, no U-Turns are permitted on Main St.
 
Walker: students who are walkers are dismissed at the covered courts gate, located next to staff parking. For the safety of our walkers, non-staff vehicles are not permitted in the school parking lot.
 
Enrichment Programs: after school Enrichment Programs dismiss at the covered courts gate. 
 
HOST: students in HOST will be escorted by school personnel. For HOST pick up, please head to the gate by the cafeteria, facing MacDill. HOST pick up runs until 6:00p
 
 

CHANGE IN DISMISSAL PLANS

All changes to a student's dismissal plan are required to be sent to the school in writing the morning of the change. If a change is needed, please send an email to:

In the email, include your student's name, their normal dismissal, the change of dismissal, the name of the person picking up, and the reason for the late notification. After the email is sent, call the front office at 813-356-1760 to ensure the email was received. The email must come from an email address on the emergency contact card.
 

PARKING

 
If you need to park for pick up, please do so across the street at MacFarlane Park and use the crosswalk to safely cross MacDill Ave. You can also park along W Chestnut St, but all parking is at your own risk. Please be courteous to our neighbors living around us and ensure not to block their driveways, mailboxes, etc.
 
Parking in the school's side lot is not permitted for the safety of our students.

HOST is a fee-based, district run program at MacFarlane Park Elementary, providing care before and after school. For more information on application windows and cost, please visit the HOST website HERE. Slots do fill up quickly and there is typically a waitlist, so it's best to apply right when the application window opens.

Enrichment Programs (On-site)

 

Enrichment Programs are fee-based programs organized by the PTA. These programs include teacher and vendor run clubs that provide students with focused learning on specific topics. Enrichment programs change each quarter and require separate registration during the registration windows. For more information on club availability, costs, and application windows, see HERE.

 

 
Transportation Provided from MacFarlane Park Elementary
  • Traditional Tae Kwon Do of South Tampa picks up students daily by van and transports them to their program on Henderson Blvd. For more information on logistics and fees, see HERE

  • The Goddard School picks up students daily by van and transports them to their program on Kennedy Blvd. For more information on logistics and fees, see HERE

 
 
Other Offsite Options
 

There are numerous city, county, and privately run after-school programs throughout the district, but transportation from MacFarlane Park Elementary is not provided:
