MISSION

The MacDaddies Club is a squad of awesome guys like you, dedicated to creating stronger bonds with our kids and our school community. We're all about contributing energy and effort to be the ultimate positive role models in our kids’ lives. Get ready to level up your Dad game, and join forces with fellow parents and guardians.

 

GOALS

  • Build stronger bonds with our children and our school community

  • Improve opportunities for parents and guardians to be more involved

ABOUT

1. What is MacDaddies?

 

The MacDaddies Club is an extension of and part of our PTA, dedicated to providing time, energy, and effort to build stronger relationships with our children and our school community, so that we can be positive role models in our children’s education.

 

2. What do we do?

  • Provide (literal) manpower for PTA

  • Create a social avenue for dads

  • Promote positive involvement in our kids' lives by supporting their school

3. How do we do that?

  • Events: Creating or supporting events that foster positive engagement for parents and kids.

  • Manpower: We coordinate our crew to help with any setup and breakdown/clean-up for PTA events, such as MacDaddies Grill or Winter Carnival

  • Positive Involvement: Supporting our PTA and school. 

ANNUAL EVENTS

We have a number of fun events that provide a great opportunity to get involved. Some Dads will do an hour here or there. Other Dads like to volunteer for a full or half day. Whatever your involvement, it is very much appreciated.

 

From personal experience - your kids will appreciate you for it and it can make them feel special to see you there at their school, doing what you do. For a full list of volunteer opportunities, please visit our full Volunteer Page. 

Our main events for the year are:

 

1. MacDaddies Grills

  • Objective: Grill food as recognition for students winning IB awards.
  • Event Dates: November 13th, February 18th, May 13th
  • Volunteer: Specific volunteer positions will be posted closer to event dates

2. Winter Carnival Committee

  • Objective: Support the Winter Carnival event coordination with fun, food, games.
  • Date & Time: February 6th
  • Responsibilities: Coordinate with PTA VP of Programs for setup, event running, and breakdown. Establish a MacDaddies carnival section with additional games and interactive experiences.

3. Strings Concerts Committee

  • Objective: Coordinate the logistics for the Strings Concerts held at Jefferson High School.
  • Event Dates: December 11th and May 11th
  • Responsibilities: Manage setup and breakdown for the concerts. Collaborate with school staff to ensure smooth execution.

4. Field Day Volunteering

  • Objective: Assist with Field Day as part of the health and fitness week.
  • Date: March 13th
  • Responsibilities: Plan activities and secure interesting attractions such as sport players or college representatives. Coordinate with VP of Programs for overall event planning.

VOLUNTEER TIME OFF (VTO):

 

An increasing amount of companies now offer Volunteer Time Off as a perk for employees. Volunteer Time Off, or VTO for short, is a type of benefit where employees get paid time off to do volunteer work. This typically ranges from 8 to 40 hours per year. VTO is a great way for employees to give back to their community without sacrificing a full day's wages. Check with your employer to see if you can help to create positive impact in your school community while benefiting from VTO
